VP, Risk Management: Sustainability and Analytics

An established (re)insurance company hiring their next Head of Risk Management.

Your new company

You will be working for a reputable market-leader within the reinsurance industry who is looking for their next head of risk management, to work alongside group/entity level personnel in supporting key decision-making processes throughout the enterprise. With an aggressive growth plan and the vision to become a better leader in its field, it continues to gain market share over its competitors.

Your new role

In your new role, you’ll be responsible for managing a growing team. You will oversee the development of risk management systems and implement relevant risk mitigation strategies. You’ll also be responsible for the cultivation and continued efforts in raising awareness of the risk culture within the company - through training and guidance. Reviewing and coordinating the workload across your team will be a constant in this position, as well as your ability to lead, develop and mentor. You will also be a key member in the transformational aspect of the enterprise's business decisions.

What you'll need to succeed

To ensure your success in this role, you will possess;

  • Ideally, at least 10 years of experience within the (re)insurance industry with exposure to analytics, catastrophe modelling and business transformation - adhering to local regulatory frameworks.
  • A tertiary qualification in either; Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, Engineering, or related field. Professional certifications in data science or business-related processes would be advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical/capital modelling tools such as R, SAS, Igloo and Prophet.
  • Be a natural leader and can work autonomously and provide guidance and mentorship for your team.
