An Oil & Gas Company is Looking for a Finance Manager (based in Petaling Jaya)

This company has been a leading drilling service provider in the oil & gas sector for the past decade. With the company's expansion, an Assistant Finance Manager position has been created.


Your new role

As the Credit Controller, you will be responsible for:

  • Credit Management: Assess credit risk for new and existing clients, approve or recommend credit limits, and maintain updated credit profiles, ensuring adherence to company policies.
  • Month-End Closing: Ensure timely processing of invoices, verify accrued receivables for accurate revenue recognition, and follow up on unbilled revenue for prompt invoicing.
  • Receivables Management: Oversee receivables across multiple countries, manage ageing reports, and collaborate with regional teams to address overdue accounts and disputes. Reconcile complex accounts including invoices and credit notes.
  • Debt Recovery: Develop strategies to reduce DSO, negotiate payment plans for overdue accounts, and coordinate with legal or recovery agencies when needed.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare detailed receivables reports by country, analyse the impact of delays on cash flow, and provide recommendations to mitigate credit risks.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work with project managers to resolve disputes, act as the main point of contact for clients on credit issues, and support internal teams with accurate receivables forecasts.


What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you will need to possess:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of credit control experience.
  • Experience of managing large, multinational receivables portfolios is essential.
  • Familiarity with oil and gas contract structures is an advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of credit management practices and industry-specific risks.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, especially for high-stakes client interactions.
