Regulatory Compliance - Japanese speaker

Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a highly skilled Japanese speaking Regulatory Compliance professional to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting the Head of Compliance in managing compliance risks and ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Support: Aid business and support functions in meeting their compliance obligations.
  • Risk Management: Identify compliance risks and obligations, and ensure effective control implementation.
  • Advisory & Training: Provide guidance, training, and regulatory updates to business and support functions.
  • Policy Review: Conduct periodic reviews of compliance policies and procedures.
  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive internal and external compliance reports.

Key Duties:

  • Stay updated with regulatory changes and inform relevant departments.
  • Identify compliance gaps and document action plans.
  • Liaise with regulators for clarification on regulations.
  • Assist first-line functions in developing action plans.
  • Conduct surveillance on communications for compliance.
  • Monitor and report on action plan implementations.
  • Address regulatory queries and liaise with authorities.
  • Conduct annual regulatory risk assessments and contribute to the Compliance Action Plan.
  • Update and enhance regulatory compliance training materials.
  • Conduct and arrange compliance training sessions.
  • Review and update compliance-related policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and compile regulatory compliance reports.
  • Coordinate compliance committee meetings.
  • Respond promptly to audit and regulatory findings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Japanese (reading and listening to business conversations)
  • Proficiency in Mandarin
