The move will double Hays’ presence and capacity in the region with the creation of a new division in our Hays Kuala Lumpur office and doubling the size of it’s highly successful Engineering team in our Hays Sunway office, further cementing it as the largest and most geographically established recruitment team of its kind in Malaysia.

This division will be an expansion of the global recruitment firm’s existing Manufacturing & Operations capabilities to include the broader spectrum of the engineering function across the energy and utilities sector. The move is in tandem with the global green energy boom that has seen Malaysia playing an increasingly bigger role in recent years, particularly in the field of solar energy that has seen increasing government support through subsidies and incentives. It also expands on the resilient manufacturing sector in Malaysia that has seen increased public investment into specialist areas like R&D.

With more than a decade’s worth of local and domain experience, Hays has now assigned a dedicated and expansive team of recruitment specialists to service the growing demand for roles in specialist engineering functions. The development of this business unit also marks a shift in focus for the firm, from more operational hiring expertise to that of specialist and highly skilled personnel in the engineering sector. The division will cover the full spectrum of the engineering function, from manufacturing and operations to energy, utilities, mining and even civil engineering.

The growth of the engineering division is yet another expansion milestone for Hays in Malaysia, and fresh off the recent expansion of its office in Sunway.
